Workshop - CyberPatriot Training and Demonstration

These are some of the materials we created for a workshop to recruit NJ teachers for CyberPatriot.  You may find them helpful if you are trying to get a team started in your school.
  1. Register a team for your school at www.uscyberpatriot.org/register/team-or-volunteer-registration.  DON'T WORRY about fees or board approval, etc. because you can drop the team anytime before Round 1 without any obligation.  By registering you will achieve two things: (1) get in the loop for CyberPatriot emails and coach online meetings; and (2) give CyberPatriot time to confirm your eligibility as a school employee - starting in  September there will be a big rush and you don't want to get caught in this backlog.

  2. Find a Windows computer  - there can be many problems with trying to run CyberPatriot on a Mac computer.   The steps below will involve installing the basic software needed, all of which is free and simple for Windows but not for Mac.  The only workaround for this is to have a Mac that has BootCamp installed with Win7.  You can also use Linux but most schools/people don't use it as an Operating System.

  3. Install Vmware Player on your computer - you can download it for free for Windows or Linux computers at  my.vmware.com/web/vmware/free#desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_player/6_0
